The best pizza I've ever had is undoubtedly from Sally's. While Frank Pepe's and Modern serve fantastic pies, Sally's stands a cut above the rest, thanks to their incredible sauce. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a cheese pizza, both of which arrived perfectly well done--just how I like them. Although the wait was a bit long due to the packed house, it wasn't a problem. They open at 11 am, so it's wise to arrive a few minutes early as there was already a line when we got there. If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting Sally's. It truly doesn't get any better.

Sally's has longer takeout wait time and longer line than Frank Pepe on the day I visited New Haven. We ordered two pies online ($10 off when signing up) for picking up 4:45-5pm, when we picked up, anyone called in then had the earliest pickup time choice of 8:45pm. Sally's doesn't have many tables inside, hence the lone line outside. On a hot humid summer day, Sally's provided self-serve iced water and iced infused water for customers waiting in the line. I saw other people added bacon to the potato rosemary pizza so I did the same. It tasted great together. The clam pizza is good too but the clam pieces are smaller and maybe less than Frank Pepe's. Tips: if you don't have to dine in, you can order online and use the $10 off coupon. Order ahead of time. You can eat by the parking lot or in the park nearby. Still would be fresh.

Sallys was well worth the long wait in line. the red sauce was delicious . to me its a bit more acidic compared to modern and zuppardis but still very good. the surprise was the potato and rosemary pie, it complimented the red pie perfectly. also like the atmosphere in there as its just a simple pizza spot that bangs out amazing pizzas. also have some good beers on tap

So we all know why we came here... One bite everybody knows the rules... We ordered ahead and the pizza was promptly ready at that time. I will say that I wish it was a little bit hotter. The coal fire gives the pizza a great flavor and minimal flop makes it easy to eat. Oh and the price, that was a hefty bill for one large cheese pizza ($26ish). Though Dave knows his pizza because it was amazing. The line was so long outside that there was roughly and hour and a half wait to order and once we got there it was a two hour out pick-up. The staff were friendly and the overall vibe was pretty cool.
